Is it too late?

Is it? Has Santa already made his list?? Uh oh.....just in case, I'd better start watchin' myself!

{click to enlarge}

I paired Cuddles Kuma, from Ildi Company, with Sprinkles from Cat's Pajamas. Sprinkles shares the same attitude as my kitty, Scrap. Isn't Cuddles CUTE?? He really looks like he's hoping to get in on the good graces, but trust me....Sprinkles is NOT the one you should worry about impressing!

{click to enlarge}

Just another view from a slight angle to better see the dimension. I used a cuttlebug folder on the red cardstock (Pebbles) and stitched around it in green on my Janome, layered over Gina K's London Fog luxury cardstock card base. Patterned paper is Basic Grey. I stamped Sprinkles in the tree from the Deck the Halls set in StazOn on a paint chip from WalMart. I colored all of the tree decorations with Smooch! (love this stuff), and glittered up the tree in frosty winter diamonds using Stickles. I added a few rhinestones and the sentiment from Cat's Pajamas, cut with my Nestabilities Fancy Tags.

Hope you enjoyed this project. Don't forget to see more from Ildi Company's design team by clicking my team members' links on the upper left of my blog. See you again soon!

Remembering Mollie

Yes, our hearts are heavy, broken even. But we want to focus on the love and the happiness Mollie shared in our home. She was an unwanted puppy who had been confined to the backyard with little interaction with people. She was 1.5 years old when we got her. I still remember the first time we took her out to the woods for a romp. It was very obvious she'd not been out. She was like a little kid on their first trip to a candy store. So sweet...

She would run, all out, until she just crashed. Then she'd sleep all the way home and most of the afternoon.

She was such a sweetie. If she'd been a mom, she would have gotten Mom of the Year honors. She mothered everything, even our bearded dragon, Oscar. Let me tell you, he was hard to mother!! She also mothered 3 kittes and 2 bunnies (when they would let her). She never met another pup that she didn't love. She had two boyfriends who will miss her. And two very sad parents who were looking forward to so much more. Thank you all for the condolences you've already shared. I just need to have space to remember her. She made me mad on occasion (like any child), but I never intended for something like this to happen.

We miss you, beautiful sweet girl. You were so loved.

FFF, You Are My Sunshine

It's a beautiful day here! Today's voluntary theme is to make something relating to kids. I sang "You are my sunshine" to my son almost every night when he was small. It's our little sweet nothing.

A year later...

This was taken in mid-December 2008, about 45 days after rescue. See how skinny her face is, and how big her back feet are compared to her thighs?

This was taken mid-June 2009. She's been here about 8 months now. She's finally proportional (although everyone seems think she's huge!), and healthy. Full of life, always ready to play and grunt and have her nose loved.

I know lots of people will credit me with being a really good bunny mom. Really, all we did was bring her in out of the weather, get rid of the pests and worms, and provide her with nutritious food, clean water and love. She did the rest.

Please - think about life from your pet's point of view before you get one. Don't get one if it will spend all day in a cage, or in an empty house. Don't get one if you're not sure you can take care of it, or if you don't know if your recipient will be allowed to have one. It's such a sad project to take in an unwanted, uncared for animal. I pay all my rescues medical needs, food, proper housing, and then there's all the hands-on rehab for an abused psyche or depression.

If you think you want a bunny - I'd be happy to share what all that would entail. There are literally thousands of abandoned pets who deserve a home. Don't shop - Adopt!!

Thanks!!   Ta for now, ~ky

What "makes" Fall??

{click to enlarge, image by Sunshine's Stamp Creations}

For us, it's the fall slate of sports, primarily football, but also hockey. My husband, and my dear friend Lee, are both rabid Denver Broncos fans. They both hale back to the Elway years, the Orange Crush, and all those wonderful memories. I've always enjoyed watching the Broncos, too, but my memories are more recent, and just as historical. Anyone been watching??

Game two of the 2008-2009 season saw a monumental guffaw in officiating that resulted in a rule change for the NFL this season. It's been called the Hochuli Rule, named after the referee that had an historically inappropriate whistling, ending the play, pre-empting use of the challenge rule, and giving Denver the game when it should have been a turnover and a loss. Snark!!

Hochuli is a runner, so Karl and I are a little more familiar with him than some others. Regrettably, he made an error - who hasn't boffed something up at work? However, the NFL has given him another chance and I hope fans will too. He's a very likable guy, and a hard worker.

This season, Hochuli will still be officiating, but Denver's magic continues. They switched coaching staff, half the team and their quarterback. They looked awful in the first game of the season, and were certain to lose with only a couple dozen seconds on the board. After 2 near picks, Orton decided to throw yet again into triple coverage. We watched with fingers splayed over our eyes. To our surprise (and I think everyone else's in the whole football world), Cincinnati decided to play volleyball, and tipped the ball over to Brandon Stokley, who ran it in for a touchdown with 11 seconds to go. Karl's been walking around the house all week, stating, completely out of the blue - Denver's One and Oh!!

I am not happy. Denver swiped my QB from the Bears, and Chicago didn't have near the luck that Denver did. Wah!!! Oh - in case you were wondering - the uniforms for the referees for some of the games this season are this ugly orange. Throwback to their uniforms 50 years ago. No, they aren't orange and blue because Denver paid them off...

Queen of Everything

This was FUN. Some of you know I've been having a rough time lately, and I thought I'd forgotten how to STAMP! Oh my!! But... I got back in the studio for just a bit today, and indeed, it was like riding a bike. You never really forget how.

This card was inspired by my kitty, Scrap. She has been reminding me over the past few days about how she is the sun, and we are the planets. She is, as she so plainly stated, QUEEN OF EVERYTHING. C'mon Mom!! Get that machine thingy off MY lap! I wanna lay on you and be worshipped and drool and purr and important stuff like that. NOW. [Can you relate??]

I'm really enjoying my copic class. I'm looking forward to being able to color like an adult instead of like I'm in kindergarten. Heck - there are some kids that can color better than me! I like how this one turned out, however.

Have I mentioned how much I love this line of stamps? This is Maigan Lynn's line of mermaids by Queen Kat Designs. This is part of the fantasy collection, and is featured on the Whimsical Ink Sorority. You should be checking this stuff out, you know.

Alrighty - I should go. The QUEEN is calling me...

Need a Lift?

Well, do ya?? This is Frankie Forklift, one of the latest releases from Sunshine's Stamp Creations. He's friendly, he's strong, and he's ready to come to your aid! {click on the picture to see more detail}

In our small town, we have a terrific amount of tourism. Along with that tourism comes a lot of people driving extraordinary distances from home, or driving rental vehicles. Tourism in the desert can be tricky - you can be stranded miles from any help or service coverage.

We have a great family owned business here that really cares about people first. Ramsay's Automotive has a board covered with letters and pictures of people who were so grateful to be plucked from those treacherous areas. I was proud to play several seasons on their softball team. They just are that inspiring, caring and generous in helping people they've never met and may never see again.

So - Frankie's here, on my blog, in recognition of the Ramsay family and all that they do to look after travelers. Thanks, too, to you for stopping by to read about them.

Princess Dreams

I hope some of you participated in the Ildi Co. blog hop on Saturday. No?? Well...for shame! I just love working with these images. They are versatile, yet fun; spunky and sassy! This is one of the newer images, Clownkins Princess. I really enjoyed dressing her up to bring a cheerful thank you to a friend. {you can always have a closer look by clicking the picture}

So....what do you think of this lass? I used the Limelight challenge (use dots and a sketch), the Gina K Stamp TV challenge to sew on your project, and the Digital Tuesday challenge to use lace and pearls. See - she's FAB flexible!

Here's a little closer view of the dimension. I used flower soft in lilac, baby pink and lemon, colored her up with my prismacolor pencils, punched the "lace" with my EK Success border punch, and put a demure pearl at her dress collar.

I hope my princess brings you a smile today. I'll be back later with a new project from Sunshine's Stamps - drop back by!

Welcome to the Bunny Nest! I host rescued animals in a small in-home setting. Currently, I host 3 bunnies and 2 kitties. These animals will be socialized and housed for the entirety of their lives in my home. They inspire my crafts, and I use any proceeds to pay for their needs. Thanks for visiting!
