Time flies....all the time!

Wow, it's already Wednesday. Cool! Tomorrow is hip hop and the gals will be regaling us with CHA stories. I've been a bit under the weather, so I've not gotten much done. Sherry had her Friday Fun challenge to make a non-romantic Valentine's card for a friend or co-worker. Lisa had the Unity Addicts challenge to use blue, pink, yellow and red for a Valentine's card. Here's my one card for both challenges!

Visit my gallery for the supply list.

More news in the bunny saga: our neighbor had 30 bunnies in a poorly designed outdoor cage with a milk jug of frozen water last Monday. Today, she has about a dozen. Hmmm. I'm afraid to think about what she did to suddenly be down to a dozen. I'm so thankful we've been able to rescue our two girls, who are both doing well. Such sweeties.

Time for a brighter side to life! I'm alive again! Yea!! The Cardinals are in the Superbowl!! Yea! NASCAR starts up in a week! Yea!! Hockey is back on after the all-star break! Yea!! And my new friend Emily gave me this blogging buddy award! Thanks Emily!! I'll be passing it on soon!

And best of all, Patter has gently nudged me back into my Bible study - YEA!! And it feels so good. I'm not quite ready to make my first challenge post, but I've enjoyed just being back in His word. Special blessings to Patter for recognizing His guidance and placing a burden on her heart to lead this (see my sidebar for His Holy Name and Scripture Challenges). Heaven knows we're all too busy, and it takes a special someone to put their priorities where they should be. Love you, lady.

A sweet surprise?

So, late last night we were hip hopping and the subject of publication and application to design teams came up. A lot of wisdom and insight was shared. I've been hanging onto this layout to see if it would get picked up before I posted it here. So, here it is:

{DP & Flocked Flower, My Minds Eye, Magnolia line; CS, Bazzill; Stamps, Unity - Happy Easter, KOTM August 2008, KOTM September 2009; Ribbon, MM, American Crafts; Ink, SU, Ranger Ink; Die Cut Letters, QuicKutz; Eyelets, MM; Die Cut Frame and Mat, Spellbinders Nestabilities; Dry embossing, Cuttlebug}

And close ups of the journalling and coloring. I used Prismacolors with the Gamsol method to shade the Unity bunny.
Most of you know the latest saga in this bunny's life. If not - look about two posts below this one. I am going to start and Easter Pet program, I think. People pick up cute pets around Easter and give them to people who are not prepared to take care of them. Those creatures are often dumped, unable to fend for themselves. As I mentioned, we had hip hop yesterday, and today is the hangover! We'll still be on Splitcoaststampers chatting this morning. Come join us! Here are two projects I made for yesterday's hip hop challenges:My cup of tea was inspired by my favorite aunt. When I was just a kid, I would spend a week or two with her in west Texas. She always made a fuss of everything, treating me like a little princess! We would use her best placemats and her best China, just for an ordinary cup of tea. No wonder she was my favorite! This challenge was Unity with All the Trimmings!

{DP, misc; Stamps, Unity - My Cup of Tea; Ribbon, Offray, MM, American Crafts, SU; Adhesive, Xyron; Ink, Ranger Ink}

This was the second Hip Hop challenge: to wish our Unity team safe travels as they Drive Into the Sunset. Well, mine ended up more rainbow, but I still like it. Easter is my favorite holiday, by the way. I just can't get over how tender the Lord's heart is toward us that he would lose His own Son to save you and me.

{Paper, Bazzill, Pebbles; Ink, SU; Heat Embossing, SU; Stamps, Unity -Jan 2009, Happy Easter; Aquapainter used with Ranger Ink for rainbow effect; Button, SU; Dry Embossing, Cuttlebug; Copper highlight on base embossing, Craf-T Products, Metallic Rub-ons.

I hope you have a fabulous day! Thanks for stopping by - hey, don't hit and run! Stick around and browse my older posts!

Because you asked so nicely....

Here's how I store my papers for stamping and scrapbooking. The first photo is the SU boxed sets and acrylic paper "shelves". Disregard the clutter and dust!!!

The second is the paper I use most often. One box for cardstock (left), one box for patterned paper (right).

This is how I have my Unity slides mounted, a cafe rod, some double "s" paper clips bent out to the size of the rod. Voila!
This is my "Master" list of all images I have and what kit they belong to.

And this is how I store my loose Unity, on thin plastic sheets (think heavier than overlay, thinner than 1/8th inch plexiglass) inside pocket protectors in a regular 3-ring notebook.

I am absolutely sick over this

I have been busy lately - VSN, dying and inheriting a neighbors mangled, malnurished and abandoned bunnies. I'm furious. Just LOOK at this. If it doesn't make you sick too, you don't have a heart.

The white bunny is Tinker, we saved her in October. The pretty cinnamon colored one is JingeBear (think ginger). Tinker has filled out and gotten sassy. Jinge just wants to be held and fed.

Yeah - you read that right - and dying. The Office of Personnel Management was processing my retirement papers and somehow listed me as deceased. So, I got this letter in the mail addressed to Heirs of Kyra Sanders. I open it up, and it tells me I died on September 27, 2008. Go figure. Now I'm dreading the list of things I'll have to do to correct this problem. Grrrr. I think I need some stress relief.

Thanks, dear friend, for letting me vent.

Another Hangover!

We had a lot of fun last night on the Hip Hop that Unity Stamp Company hosts on the Splitcoaststampers site. I hope you got to join us. I love Love LOVE the new releases! Lookie here what I made:

I made this using SEI designer paper, Bazzill cardstock, SU and Ranger inks, SU chicken wire stamp, Unity's Hey Chick stamp set, Prima flowers, Making Memories flower brad, and Darice finishing accents.

I love these cheeky chicks! Well, I love real chickens too. They are such fun to watch. I hope you had a chance to see Angela's blog, and give all the girls some love. They are a swell bunch!

I didn't get anything else made yesterday because we were so busy on hip hop, and then I just HAD to watch the Oklahoma vs. Florida bowl game. It was a great game, but DH beat me in the number of winning picks. Do you watch/play sports? Do you get really competitive or just lay back and enjoy? I love hockey, football, late season baseball, and NASCAR. Weird for a girl, eh? Oh, and we enjoy March Madness basketball.

It's really windy out today, so I will be jogging on the treadmill. It's in the 40s, but a beautiful blue sky. Our snow is finally melting, so I can't take Miss Mollie (our lab) out for a romp. She's quite ready and showing signs of cabin fever. Well, I hope you are all doing well. I think about you and you have a place in my prayers.

Withdrawls Cured

Thursday is my favorite day. Well, I like Friday too... Ok, I'm a Unity Stamp Company addict! I've been suffering withdrawls for 20 days, but Thursday brings the rubber I love! Angela and the gang at Unity are making some changes to the way we hop, but no doubt it will just be better! So, cruise on over to the Unity Blog at 10 a.m. Central, hop around the gorgeous blogs for great idea-candy, then hop back to the blog at 11. If you can't make those times, we'll be hanging out at Splitcoaststampers in the Unity forum.

I made this little card using Unity's Love and Meaning stamp, Pebbles designer paper, Bazzill cardstock, American Crafts ribbon, Prismacolors using the Gamsol method, and Stazon Ink.

I've really not been feeling well lately, so I've not done much creating over the last few weeks. However, the stamping fools will help lift my spirits. They're starting a little accountability group for those who want to get healthy, exercise, and generally take "me" time. Come stop by! If anyone is interested, I have another blog that provides great healthful recipes. See you on the hip hop!

Hip Hoppy New Year!

I hope 2009 has been very good to you so far. We're managing. We still have about 6 inches of snow turned ice in the yard, with another dusting today. I LOVE SNOW. My favorite place to live (and I've lived about everywhere), is upstate New York. We had 9 months of snow, and I used to slide down snow banks that drifted up to my second-story bedroom window. The I would run around to the front of the house to help my Dad de-ice the front door. We built snow tunnels to the corner bus stop, and school was never canceled.

I thought I'd share a page today that has little to do with the weather. Well...actually it does. My cats, bunny and dog are going a little stir crazy with the snow. So this page relates how my oldest cat, Scrap, gets the stir out of her crazy. She's a real hoot! { and yes, I know her name is SCRAP not SRCAP, dislexia strikes again! }

Hope you enjoy. See you Thursday at the Hip Hop!
Welcome to the Bunny Nest! I host rescued animals in a small in-home setting. Currently, I host 3 bunnies and 2 kitties. These animals will be socialized and housed for the entirety of their lives in my home. They inspire my crafts, and I use any proceeds to pay for their needs. Thanks for visiting!
