Boobie Month!

Yep - it's that time to offer your SUPPORT to BOOBIES worldwide!

Smiley from millan.net

Sunshine's Stamps, and the Sunshine Gals want to celebrate all of those wonderful, courageous women who fought and won, and all those who fought and lost. Cancer sucks, but the people do not. They show the way to face obstacles and move on, to find the important things in each day, and to value people in their lives. Thanks to all the crafters, all the companies, and all the bloggers who are remembering this month.

You owe it to yourself to go Get 'Em Squished! Boobie Bunny wants to get you there with a smile! I know a few gals who actually make this trip to the mammogram machine into a party. Party on!

As you can see, Boobie has her night on the town planned. She's got her dancin' dress and her bling, some bright lipstick and is looking for someone to help her celebrate! I'm sure she's got a rockin' handbag filled with CHOCOLATE carrots, too! Go on - meet her at the club, have a great dinner out, treat yourself for doing good for you!

The Sun is Shining on Lenny Loader!

SUNSHINE STAMP CREATIONS!!
Congratulations on your debut!

I am honored to be able to present this new company, and serve as a design team member. You know, I once thought digital images were not practical. However, I didn't really take the time to explore their applications. Christina Bower (owner) has some wonderful ideas on digital image flexibility, and I am going to be learning and playing with those ideas later this week.

For now, I just want to show you how easily these images create great masculine cards. I made this card using Lenny Loader (of the Big Builder series). This image can be anything from a boy's birthday to a Father's Day or other celebratory card. Here, I made a card for my husband's birthday.

I love playing with my prismacolor pencils to create scenes for images. This time, I went with a simple background to give Lenny the fullest attention. I used my Flower Soft (Spring mix - from my friend Amy! Thanks!), machine embroidery thread (Coates & Clark) to dress up the border, and heavy weight aluminum foil to glam Lenny up a little. Face it - guys wanna look good too!!

I tilted the card to give you a better look at the dimension added by the flower soft, ribbon and stitching. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things (Can Ya Dig It set), paper is Pebbles cardstock, and Lenny was printed in toner rather than ink (no bleeding).

This is the inside of the card. I made a card pocket by folding up the excess paper rather than cutting it off. This is a versatile card - you can put money, a gift card, or just about anything in it (even some MP3 players could fit!). Here I added some seeds for my husband because he loves to garden. I will probably add a gift card too, so he can buy more soil to expand his garden area.

That's right. Just visit the blog and email Christina for your free image! Sunshine's email is valleysunshine@hotmail.com

Check back often! I will have another project for you later this week using Lenny or his sister Lenora (or maybe both!). I appreciate you stopping by, and I'd love to know what you think of this project. Have a terrific July 4th celebration!

Tuesday Tinkering in the Studio

Yep, I'm tinkering today (with Tinker, no less!). I didn't do a single crafty thing yesterday, it was just a bad day. Today is better! Thought I'd show you my cards from VSN Mini this weekend.

This card was created for the Darth Tater Challenge. I love this theme for VSN - Paper Chef! Based on the ever popular Food Network Iron Chef series. Our challenge was to use the colors found in a baked potato with a secret ingredient - paprika! Red (or paprika) was to be an accent color. It's getting warm here, so my first thought was watermelon, which led to a seed spitting contest, and summer birthday parties! House Mouse Happy Hopper seed spitter took center stage along with Gina K Design's Eclectic Summer Sayings happy birthday.

Ingredients: SU! PP, Bazzill CS, GKD Pure Luxury Chocolate Chip CS, SU! markers, sweet pea Flower Soft, Robin's Nest dew drops, Offray ribbon, Memento tuxedo black, and SU! kiwi kiss inks.

This cutie was created for the Herb 'n' Man challenge to make a masculine card using the color of herbs. I used the Card Positioning System sketch #121 for the layout. I plan to give this to my darling husband who has been working so hard on our garden. At the end of the season we will have a ton of veggies to put up, and I really appreciate having a husband who loves to grow things. So, a little thank you and some mad money should let him know I appreciate him!

Ingredients: Gardener Flopsey (MFT), Thank You (Gina K - Eclectic Summer Sayings), Memento tuxedo black and SU! kiwi kiss inks, Prismacolor pencils and baby oil, Basic grey PP, Bazzill CS, Fiskar's border punch, and SU! scalloped circle and inner circle punch.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to scroll down to see the other things I've been working on lately.

It's a Buns & Noble Kinda Day

Hello, friends out in cyber land! How is your Saturday shaping up? Mine is cloudy and cool. Perfect for a cuppa joe and a good book. I was roaming around the blogs recently and found the perfect sketch to convey my feel for this day. I used the Card Patterns Sketch #19 for this:

Kinda like Reading Flopsey here! Just a quick project I tossed together with ingredients laying on my stamping table. I love Flopsey. He does stuff we all love to do! And, he colors up just like my two girls really easily. For this card, I used Gina K's Chocolate Kiss pure luxury cardstock, SU! patterned paper, Offray ribbon, Robin's Nest dew drops, Memento tuxedo black ink, Bazzill's orange textured cardstock, my EK Success border punch, and my QuicKutz Revolution Alpha-dies. I colored Flopsey and his books with prismacolor pencils using the Gamsol Method.

I hope you get a chance to enjoy a laidback Saturday. Thanks so much for stopping by - I love it when you do!

My favorite color...

Is anything but PINK. So...my dear sweet friend Katy decided this week's You Shouldn't Have Left Us Alone challenge would be to use your least favorite color. Somebody save me from the madness!!!

So, Katy, dearest, is it PINK enough for you??!! Ha ha ha ahhhh.... Actually it was quite fun. I paired pink (another dear friend's favorite color) with raspberry and kiwi kiss (her un-favorite) so it's kind of like a torture card! Hey, if I gotta suffer, someone else should too!

So, reading Flopsey (My Favorite Things) was stamped in Memento tuxedo black on Pebbles white cardstock, colored with prismacolor pencils and baby oil. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Lilac Posies on pink Bazzill cardstock. The raspberry and kiwi kiss cardstock are both SU! as is the designer paper. A little Offray ribbon and some Doodlebug jewels round it off. I used the "Sketch for you to try" challenge (#19) for the layout.

I hope this help make your day a little more cheery knowing just how much I suffered! Ha!! Have a good laugh and enjoy your day!

Welcome to the Bunny Nest! I host rescued animals in a small in-home setting. Currently, I host 3 bunnies and 2 kitties. These animals will be socialized and housed for the entirety of their lives in my home. They inspire my crafts, and I use any proceeds to pay for their needs. Thanks for visiting!
