It's MONDAY!

Wow! Wasn't this Superbowl the BEST we've seen in a few years? Congrats to the Saints!!

It's Monday again - and that means two things, the end of the football season (BOO) and the beginning of another week in Ippity! Yay!! I am also looking forward to the beginning of a new year of NASCAR!

Time for another H{ippity} Hop!

Today's card uses Jillibean Soup papers, and {ippity}'s Devoted set. Love this card. Did you see all the new Spellbinder dies that are coming out this month? Oh my GOSH but I have got to get some of those!

Something else you may have noticed today, but I am no longer on the Queen Kat Design team. Many of you know that I really wanted to be on that team, mostly because of the fabulous art of Maigan Lynn! Well, after spending 9 days on the road and at CHA with the owner, I began to see that this is not a company I want my name associated with. As a result, we have parted ways.

I'm kinda strange that way - I don't take kindly to people who run other people down just so they feel taller. I'm fiercely loyal to my friends, just so we're all clear on that point...

Here's another little project that I will share. It was the {ippity} make and take at CHA. I LOVE this little project, and it was so much fun to watch the Unity guys helping people make them. Great memories, so much fun!

Ooops...can't show you that just yet. Sneak peeks don't start until Feb 15th! You're just gonna have to wait. It will be so very worthwhile though!!

Ok - I'll send you on your way. Leave me a comment, and head back over to the {ippity} blog for the complete list of talented, genuine, precious ladies who've worked up projects for you. Delight in your friends!

Royal Kat Tuesday!

I am no longer affiliated with QKD - I cannot support a company who runs down any company that's successful in our business. Stamping is about supporting each other and raising people up, not knocking others down so you can look bigger. Not to mention an owner who blasts her own design team members. Thanks to all my readers for continuing to visit me. I value you highly.

Hello and welcome to my blog! Have you heard of Steampunk? It's a fabulous combination of old Victorian style and modern mechanical pieces. I love this stuff!!

And...here is my card! (yes....it's hanging out with my Bubba Gump margarita shaker!)

I used Cosmo Cricket, Gina K, and Basic Grey papers for this card.

I stamped the birds on a fence in StazOn, and embossed with clear powder. Then I inked the background with Ranger distressing inks to give the faux sky and background. I used Basic Grey bling, Gina K's flower and ribbon, and my trusty Copic markers to fill in. I did turn the sketch on it's side. Now, you know me, this card will be going to our soldiers, so I have some additional work to do on the inside of the card.

I'm grateful that you stopped by here on your way today.

Cool runnings. Peace be the journey. ~ky

Oh My Happy Day!

Did you hear?? Did you SEE? Queen Kat Designs has been having a contest for their next design team positions. I was selected to move on to round 2!!! Woooohoooo!!! You all know I love that company!

So, our challenge for this round was to create a project that was anything but a card, and also a card. Since I'm heading to the Craft and Hobby Association next week, I thought I would need a new art journal. What better project for this challenge!?! Here it is:

{click to enlarge}

What do you think?? I love this!! LOVE it! Thanks, Vicki, for making this challenge so I could create a supah journal! That is the beautiful ocean diva, Pearl, as the center piece. Maigan Lynn created her just for Queen Kat Designs, and you can buy her too! This is a hand made journal, complete with 18 pages of Pure Luxury cardstock for me to draw and jot inspired notes in while at Craft and Hobby Association's supershow!

She's colored with copics, layered for dimension (her tail is a layer lower than the rest of her), and placed in a beautiful bed of ocean lilacs. Mmmm... I'm in LOVE! Her mask is Smooch moonlight, and she's holding her siren pearl - in my mind, a fire opal! Isn't she just a beauty??

My second project is a card set for a young lady. I will be contributing these cards to Operation Write Home for some servicemember to send home to a child whom they are missing. Very simple, but hopefully full of happiness. Take a look:

Isn't this fun?? I love how whimsical these images from Gina K Designs are (drawn by her daughter Alicia). I used this week's sketch from the Mojo Monday blog, and I colored them with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. It's a fun and fast sketch with a lot of design power. I hope you'll play along with that challenge too! By the way - QKD has a challenge - check it out HERE and play along!!

So - what do you think? Do I have a snowball's chance? Oooh I do hope so, but regardless I think I did pretty well with these projects. If you need specific instructions of product info, please leave a comment and I will gladly share! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! See you on Monday for the H{ippity} Hop!

Cool runnings ~ peace be the journey. ~ky

Queen of Everything

This was FUN. Some of you know I've been having a rough time lately, and I thought I'd forgotten how to STAMP! Oh my!! But... I got back in the studio for just a bit today, and indeed, it was like riding a bike. You never really forget how.

This card was inspired by my kitty, Scrap. She has been reminding me over the past few days about how she is the sun, and we are the planets. She is, as she so plainly stated, QUEEN OF EVERYTHING. C'mon Mom!! Get that machine thingy off MY lap! I wanna lay on you and be worshipped and drool and purr and important stuff like that. NOW. [Can you relate??]

I'm really enjoying my copic class. I'm looking forward to being able to color like an adult instead of like I'm in kindergarten. Heck - there are some kids that can color better than me! I like how this one turned out, however.

Have I mentioned how much I love this line of stamps? This is Maigan Lynn's line of mermaids by Queen Kat Designs. This is part of the fantasy collection, and is featured on the Whimsical Ink Sorority. You should be checking this stuff out, you know.

Alrighty - I should go. The QUEEN is calling me...

Welcome to the Bunny Nest! I host rescued animals in a small in-home setting. Currently, I host 3 bunnies and 2 kitties. These animals will be socialized and housed for the entirety of their lives in my home. They inspire my crafts, and I use any proceeds to pay for their needs. Thanks for visiting!
