Walk Down Memory Lane...

Am I overwhelming you with all these posts?? Hope not. If you're looking for the Hip Hop Hangover Post, SCROLL DOWN.
Here is a project I am currently working on - a recipe scrapbook of my Mom's cooking. I also plan to put in a recipe or two of mine.

Supplies: Die Cuts, Cuttlebug and Quickutz; Large letters, Cricut; DSP, SU; CS, Bazzill

Here's a sample of the recipe pages. I have GOT to get my scanner out of storage. Crooked pages and poor photo quality are driving me UP THE WALL. Can you relate!??

Supplies for these pages are from Project Imaginations GenX line, Lazer Cuts (Texas), Prima flowers, Coaster by SEI (Granny's Kitchen).

Snow Day!

I had so much fun playing with Lisa Hetrick's snowpeople, and the dream tree, both from Unity. I hope you enjoy looking at it too!

Other supplies: label punch, SU; Ribbon, SU (blue) and Offray; Ink, SU, Ranger, and Colorbox; Stickles, Ranger; Coloring, SU markers; Wire, Western Trim.

Stay warm!

And a-Hip Hopping We Will GO...!!

What's a Hip Hop, you ask? Oh you naive little one...it's only the most fun you can have with rubber, paper, ink and the internet! It's like BINGO without a bingo card...Hmm...doesn't seem to convey the point.

Start at http://www.theunitystampco.blogspot.com/ at 10 a.m. Central time. Read the Hip Hop post, where Angela will detail the offers for the week (usually ending mid-day, or midnight on Friday). She will also tell you which Design Team member will be the first blog you need to visit.Click on the first blog - remember, not all links show up in a contrast color, so just roll that mouse around {who wants a fat mouse??}. When your browser brings you to that blog, read that Diva's post for the day. Sometimes there's a prize to be won, sometimes the prize is the great inspiration you get from their project. At the end, they'll tell you which Diva's next. So, you hop on over to that blog...get the picture? Just keep blog hopping until you get to the end (the last gal will tell ya).

Then, join us at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ in the Unity forum for chats and challenges. I cannot stress enough how welcoming and wonderful all the Unity people are - the people who make it, and those who make things with Unity stamps. You just gotta experience it. So...what are ya doing still hanging here??? Hop on over to http://www.theunitystampco.blogspot.com/ and get started!

B-E-A-Utiful Space

I love living at what feels like the edge of the world. You can see for miles, sunrise and sunsets have a special quality, and photographic possibilities are endless. See for yourself!

Everytime I look at this page, I hear the Doxology...Praise God from Whom all blessings flow, Praise Him all creatures here below, Praise Him above ye heavenly host, Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Are You Tired Yet?

To be fair, I must state that DS pointed out the 5K was at 8,000 feet elevation, and we live at 4,500 feet. {He still didn't prepare!!} After we cooled off from our 5K, we loaded up and took a hike on the rim of Bryce Canyon. We took a shuttle to the fartherest point, and hiked the trail back. We were sure one of us was going to get thrown over the edge {pay to see my kid fly?? LOL}, but we managed to stumble back to the truck in one complete family gaggle.

The Family that Plays Together, Stays Together

Children in general are getting less exercise. Mine is no exception. So, during the summer of 2006, I informed DS that we would all enter the Bryce Canyon 5K run (held in July). We built him a running schedule, gave him full access to all the exercise equipment, including our treadmill and MP3 player. Ha. It was an interesting experience to say the least. Follow the trail of the tale:

Yep, we bought shoes. Remember, we drive 85 miles one-way for anything more than iceberg lettuce. Then we had to buy bigger shoes - apparently "do they fit" is not a specific question to the 13 year old mind. After that, he ran off, yes OFF, the treadmill which thanked him and threw him into the door. Dented door..dented pride...very sore ribs when we finally stopped laughing!

Yes, we both beat the boy. We figured we would. He admitted he didn't prepare. Now, he's playing football, and proud that he can run a full 5K without stopping to walk. Realize, 5K is only 3.1 miles. Not a stretch for a kid who plays sports.

A Jump, A Hip, A Hop....

This card was done for the CC196 color challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I used the Cuter Than Most set from Unity because the very creative Jen Buck inspired me!!!

Wow - it was an AMAZING hip hop this week. Angela used her NEW live broadcast, and it was a hit. Hope I can help figure out some bugs to make it even better. Even so, I know lots and lots of folks had fun!

I heard a thump. Then I heard a hip and a hop... I looked around the corner to see Tinker, the bunny. She is a rescue, and has developed into such an amazing girl! She pretended to see a predator, she thumped, then she jumped. A PERFECT Ninja turn in the air, to....no one there!! How like us?? Chasing hidden demons...

She was left in the yard. Her owner moved away. She had no food, and was chased by dogs around the neighborhood. She is a SWEETIE. Loves to have her nose petted. And, she's getting into being what she is - a DOMESTIC bunny! She's even made friends with another rescue - Dyna (short for Dynamite). More on Dyna later...

Still she looked HAPPY to be playing. Like she was learning all over again. Is this you? Are you tooooo focused into the 'real' world to play? Better not or you'll be in the night before Christmas with angels and such pestering you. Best yet, come to splitcoaststampers and join us for the hip hop hangover! {Secret: you don't have to be hungover, just come!}. Meanwhile...enjoy!

All Unity stamps, SU ink, Basic Grey paper... Thanks for stopping by!

Unity At Last!

I FINALLY got the kitty off my table long enough to play. These aren't stellar examples, but I'm just so thrilled to have ink on my Unity stamps that I had to share.

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder (snowflakes), Versamark embossing ink, Stampin' Stuff embossing powder, Doodlebug brad, Bazzil cardstock, Offray ribbon, and MPR Assoc. Inc. bookmarks. All stamped images are from the Unity Stamp Company Kit of the Month for September 2008 - Friendship, Love, Miracles.

This was a limited supplies challenge (LSC197, Let It Snow) on Splitcoaststampers Challenge Forum. I had a lot of fun doing this and it will be a gift for someone who loves to read!

Here's my second project. It started as a Unity card challenge during Thursday's Hip Hop (12-4-08), but I couldn't find my camera!!! So, I missed playing.

Do you like hanging out, chatting and lots of eye candy? Come join us here - Splitcoaststampers Unity Forum. I tell ya, it's a BLAST! And check out the Unity Blog anytime - an AWESOME group!!

Ok - card details. Pebbles Inc. card base -cream, I've forgotten whose designer papers these are, so if you know, tell me; Creative Memories cardstock - blue; Pebbles ribbon, Doodlebug brads. The stamp is from Unity Stamp Company's November 2008 Kit of the Month - Enjoy Your Story...Laugh.

Fall Forward!

I LOVE autumn. If I was in charge, we would have fall three times a year, with a short bit of winter. Later, I'll tell you spring's my season (I'm kinda like Ma Nature that way).

We like to check out the autumn colors, and this layout depicts a day at Duck Creek, Utah. Looking at this photo, I can still feel the sunshine, that last warm day before frost, and smell that clean outdoorsy scent. I hope it makes you feel all warm and gooshy inside!

Getting Into the Swing

We do a lot of hiking and sightseeing. I'm so lucky to have my son out for a hike. On this day, we climbed Angel's Landing in Zion National Park. It was hot, as you can tell from the photo.

I taught this layout as a class at my LSS. The background paper is Patchwork Paper Design Inc., the foam stamps and paint are Making Memories, the corrugated cardstock and tag are Pebbles Inc. with Ranger Ink Walnut Stain distressing ink, the pocket is Bazzil Cardstock, ribbon by Offray, twill tape by and MY stamp by Making Memories, eyelets by Doodlebug, miscellaneous thread and a used/repurposed soda tab.
Welcome to the Bunny Nest! I host rescued animals in a small in-home setting. Currently, I host 3 bunnies and 2 kitties. These animals will be socialized and housed for the entirety of their lives in my home. They inspire my crafts, and I use any proceeds to pay for their needs. Thanks for visiting!
