Virtual Reality

Hello friends!

We live in an amazing world. Technology is a powerful thing, but sometimes I get really tired of people. On those days, I love to stay in my studio and make my own reality. I shut out the distractions and the social media outlets. I turn on some amazing music and just play.

Occasionally, I turn on the video just in case something nice happens on my table. Most of the time it's just cats, squirrels, and bunnehs. But this time...

I got some Yupo paper. Speaking of oxymoron. Yupo is plastic. There is nothing paper-y about it! I remember when it first hit the market. I thought it was just crazy-talk. Who would buy that expensive plastic?!?

You see... this 'paper' is much like Teflon. Nothing sticks to it. Then I saw a video that Dina Kowal made over on Splitcoast. I wouldn't attack Yupo with anything that wasn't permanent. She, being much more adventurous than I, actually watercolored on the stuff.

Water. Color. Yupo. No. Physics has rigorous demands. Then a member of Splitcoast had the audacity to issue a challenge to all of us to follow Dina into the jaws of artistic death.

Well.
You know me.
I had to. It was a dare.

I recorded it because I was certain I would die when the world I knew was destroyed. Water on plastic. You be the judge.

I did video my work using the same process with Pebeo watercolors, but apparently that video wasn't meant to be seen. Maybe my new rescue ate it? Yeah, that's a good story. The stamp is A Good Day. Watercolors react and respond very similarly to the Brusho.

I took the finished panel and cut it into strips. That was hard, but even harder was trying to cover up that beautiful effect. So I didn't. This stamp set is from Hero Arts, Smile stamp and cut.

I took a deep breath on this one before gluing down those pretty flowers. I left them black and white for 2 reasons - Lydia told me to, and I couldn't bear to have anything competing with the Brusho color riot. The stamp and die are both in the Sale-A-Bration - hurry! The offer to earn these free vanishes March 31.

Be sure you check out the challenges. There are a lot of fun ones! Some will stretch you! Hope to see you there.

Two of my readers will win 1 of 2 prizes - one for card makers and one for bible journalers. Please tell me which you are in your comment, and how you were drawn into these crafts. I love learning about you! Also, what crafty tool are you currently obsessed with? Did you get something special at Christmas?

Card makers will win the A Good Day stamp set. This sweet set will be your go-to for simple cards with a well-rounded set of sentiments. Besides...it has a BUNNY!!! LOL How could I resist?

For the card maker.

Bible journalers will win the Doodles To Live By (retired) journaling kit by Illustrated Faith. This kit includes a stamp set, a 14-day devotional, an alpha-sticker set, a set of  other stickers, die cuts, a magnetic bookmark, tip-ins, washi tape and a cool bag to keep it all in!

For the bible journaler.
The fine print - this giveaway ends at midnight Central Standard Time, January 5, 2018, is open to US addresses only, and the winners will be notified by email and will also be stated in a winner's post on this blog. A Good Day - Occasions

Wow! Are you dying to see the new Occasions catalog from Stampin' Up!? There's not a bad set in the lot. And more embellies too! Squeee!

You guys know I love sequins, right? You don't? Ummm....ok, I do! They are my glitter! Well, SU! has made a set of self-adhesive medium sized sequins. They are beautiful!

Another thing I'm obsessed with right now is the new set A Good Day. How adorbz!! This set coordinates with a scallop circle punch and some awesome mini-embroidery hoops! Look how EASY and fast this set comes together!

Berry Burst cardstock, Ruffles Dynamic Textured Impressions EF, Night of Navy cardstock, Naturally Eclectic DSP, linen thread, silver metallic thread, on a Whisper White card base.
Look at those adorable sequins! And the silver thread adds such a simple but shiny punch to the design. This stamp set and 56 pages of goodness comes live to you on January 3rd.

I just got this new dynamic textured impressions embossing folder. Ok, it's not new new, but for some reason it was invisible to my eyes in the regular catalog (p. 211). Now that I have it...holy wow! It really looks like tiered fabric! Instantly dresses up a card.

Ok - just a quick note. Tonight at midnight, check back here for a special hop where you will have a chance to win something from each blog on the list. Yes! it's Seasons Givings time!

See ya soon!

Welcome to the Bunny Nest! I host rescued animals in a small in-home setting. Currently, I host 3 bunnies and 2 kitties. These animals will be socialized and housed for the entirety of their lives in my home. They inspire my crafts, and I use any proceeds to pay for their needs. Thanks for visiting!
