We live in an amazing world. Technology is a powerful thing, but sometimes I get really tired of people. On those days, I love to stay in my studio and make my own reality. I shut out the distractions and the social media outlets. I turn on some amazing music and just play.
Occasionally, I turn on the video just in case something nice happens on my table. Most of the time it's just cats, squirrels, and bunnehs. But this time...
I got some Yupo paper. Speaking of oxymoron. Yupo is plastic. There is nothing paper-y about it! I remember when it first hit the market. I thought it was just crazy-talk. Who would buy that expensive plastic?!?
You see... this 'paper' is much like Teflon. Nothing sticks to it. Then I saw a video that Dina Kowal made over on Splitcoast. I wouldn't attack Yupo with anything that wasn't permanent. She, being much more adventurous than I, actually watercolored on the stuff.
Water. Color. Yupo. No. Physics has rigorous demands. Then a member of Splitcoast had the audacity to issue a challenge to all of us to follow Dina into the jaws of artistic death.
Well.
You know me.
I had to. It was a dare.
I recorded it because I was certain I would die when the world I knew was destroyed. Water on plastic. You be the judge.
I did video my work using the same process with Pebeo watercolors, but apparently that video wasn't meant to be seen. Maybe my new rescue ate it? Yeah, that's a good story. The stamp is A Good Day. Watercolors react and respond very similarly to the Brusho.
I took the finished panel and cut it into strips. That was hard, but even harder was trying to cover up that beautiful effect. So I didn't. This stamp set is from Hero Arts, Smile stamp and cut.
I took a deep breath on this one before gluing down those pretty flowers. I left them black and white for 2 reasons - Lydia told me to, and I couldn't bear to have anything competing with the Brusho color riot. The stamp and die are both in the Sale-A-Bration - hurry! The offer to earn these free vanishes March 31.
Be sure you check out the challenges. There are a lot of fun ones! Some will stretch you! Hope to see you there.

Great video, Kyra! I adore Yupo paper, but have only ever used it with alcohol inks. I can’t wait to try it with Brushos! Thanks for the fun peek into the Bunny Nest!
